This facility renames the manholes on the Storm or Foul networks according to a standard numbering convention.

Run 1 is considered to be the longest run from the outfall (longest in terms of distance along the network, rather than number of manholes). The manhole at the head of Run 1 is then named S1 (for storm networks) or F1 (for foul networks).

The next manhole down is named S2 (or F2), then S3, etc., until it comes to a branch off Run 1. This branch is considered to be Run 2. The head manhole of Run 2 then gets named with the next number, and then the numbering proceeds down Run 2 (splitting out for any branches off Run 2) until it arrives back at Run 1. The numbering then continues down Run 1 to the next branch, and so until until the outfall is reached.

To use the facility, select the Drainage->Renumber Manhole Network... menu option.

Look For Manholes

On Network

Select to renumber either the Storm or Foul networks. The Prefix items will change to S or F accordingly.

Numbers Prefixed

If this option selected, the renumbering will be limited to only the manholes which are currently prefixed with the specified letter(s) followed by a number (such as S2 or F12).

For example, you can limit the renumbering to only those manholes which are currently prefixed with the letter S followed by a number, i.e. S1, S2 ,S13, S26 etc. It will ignore other manholes which have names such as 'Headwall' or 'Storm Drain'.

In Phase

If this option is selected, it will limit the renumbering to only those manholes in the given drainage phase.

Note: The drainage phase can be specified on the manhole properties window.

Renumber To

New Prefix

This will be the new prefix used to rename those manholes that match the filters set above. By default it is 'S' for storm networks and 'F' for foul, but can be set to anything you want.

Starting Number

This is the starting number used when renumbering the system. By default this is set to 1, eg S1, S2, S3 etc. for a storm network. It can be changed to any number.

For example, you may wish to renumber each phase with different number sets. Eg, phase 1 starting at S101, Phase 2 starting at S201 etc.
