This option is for modifying the vertical properties of a Secondary Channel.

On the Secondary Channels Tools button secondary channels toolbar, click the Secondary Channel Properties button Secondary Channel Properties button.

You can now select which secondary channel to query. As you move the mouse over the drawing the secondary channel closest to the cursor will highlight. Click the mouse to select the desired item.

The following window is shown:

Secondary Channels Properties Window

Grade

The secondary channel grade defines the gradient slope across the road, from the primary channel, to the bottom of the kerb. A positive value (for example, 1:40) means the carriageway slopes down from the primary channel to the secondary channel. A negative value (for example, 1:-40) mean the carriageway slopes up from the primary channel to the secondary channel.

The default is for the primary channel to be higher than the secondary channel.

Upstand

The secondary channel upstand defines the height of a small kerb that runs along the primary channel in between the it and the secondary channel.

When you click the OK button, your road will be recalculated to use the new design, and any other aspect of the design (for example a nearby junction) will be automatically recalculated to accommodate the changes.
