This facility allows you to split a road into two at a selected chainage.
This is particularly useful if you need to raise or lower an entire road by a specified amount.
This facility can be used at any time during the design process. Site3D will work out all the knock-on effects and update your site accordingly.
To use the centreline split facility click the Road menu at the top of the screen and select the Split... option.
The mouse will change to a chainage tracker and highlights the centreline that will be selected when you click.
The following window will appear after you have selected a centreline.
This lets you select which centreline to do the operation on. By default this will be the centreline that was initially selected.
Here you can specify the exact point along the road centreline where the road is split into two.
Clicking the OK button will apply the split in the road. This will result in two separate roads that can be edited independently, with the same design before and after the split as the previous single road design.
